Otago University Cheerleading Club

WELCOME TO THE OTAGO UNI CHEER FAMILY

We are so stoked to have you checking us out! Otago Uni Cheer is a high energy community of both total beginners and seasoned athletes who meet up every week to stunt, tumble, and just have a blast. Whether you want to be a competitive champion or you are just looking for a fun way to stay active and meet a great group of people, we have a spot for you on the mat. We train at the Eclipse Cheerleading Gym in King Edward Court (291 Stuart St). Come say hi!

WHO CAN JOIN?

The short answer is everyone! We are an all inclusive club and we want to see people of all genders and experience levels joining in.

• Total Beginners: Most of our members start with zero experience. We will teach you how to stunt, jump, and tumble from scratch.

• Boys and Men: We really want to highlight that cheer is for you too! Guys are a massive part of cheerleading especially for those high flying power stunts and tosses. It is an incredible workout and a great way to build strength. Do not be shy, we are always looking for more guys to join the squad!

FREE OPEN TRAINING DAYS If you are even slightly curious, just come along! These sessions are completely free, zero pressure, and no commitment required.

• Monday February 23rd: 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM

• Wednesday February 25th: 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING

• Clothing: Wear any comfy, sporty clothes you can move in. You will be jumping and twisting, so make sure you are flexible!

• Hydration: Bring a big water bottle because you are definitely going to need it!
