Welcome to Otago Uni Cheer! We are a group of beginner and experienced cheerleaders who meet every week to stunt and tumble. Some athletes are interested in performance and competitive opportunities whilst others are involved at the recreational level. We train at the Eclipse Cheerleading Gym in King Edward Court (291 Stuart St).

We have one training a week for Knights, and twice a week for Dynasty. As a club, we strive to create a very welcoming and fun environment for all athletes, regardless of their level and team. We encourage you to come try out a new sport, meet new friends, and follow us @otagounicheer on Instagram and TikTok to see what we get up to!

In 2022 our team placed first at both South Island Showoffs and Alpine Classic in the University division, finishing the 2022 season undefeated & as Scholastic Grand Champions! In 2023, Dynasty placed first and were named Grand Champions at CheerFest. Knights and Dynasty both placed 3rd at Alpine Classic, putting out 2 routines which we are so proud of. 

In 2024, Dynasty placed first in both NZ Majors and Supernationals. We are so proud of these performances and all the hard work our athletes put in.

Knights, our recreational team trains once a week on Monday evenings (7:30-9pm) and can pay $160* for a full-year membership, or $85* per semester. Knights are always accepting new members (including complete beginners) and you're welcome to tag along to our training and try a session for free to see how you like cheer before making any commitments! 

Dynasty, our competitive team, trains twice a week, Monday 6:30-7:30pm and Wednesday 7-8:30pm. There is a full-year membership fee of $300*, as well as tryouts. Athletes are expected to commit to all trainings and competitions for the entire season, so please make sure you are available for both trainings per week. Membership for Dynasty is currently closed.
