"University Grange Cricket Club has a rich history, originating from the merger of two distinguished clubs—Grange Cricket Club, which had previously merged with Grange High School Old Boys, and University Cricket Club. Both clubs had enjoyed success in their own right before uniting ahead of the 1986-87 season. Over the years, the club has been a breeding ground for cricketing talent, producing many players who went on to achieve higher honours. These include Suzie Bates, the former White Ferns captain, as well as Black Caps stars Matt Horne, Aaron Redmond, Michael Bracewell, and Glenn Phillips. Other notable Otago cricketers from the club include Aaron Gale, Sam Wells, Andrew Hore, James McMillan, Craig Smith, Craig Prior, and Neil Ruston. University Grange continues to uphold its proud tradition of developing talent and fostering a passion for the game."
