How It Works:

  1. Pick Up Your Box: Visit OUSA Clubs & Socs at 84 Albany Street to purchase your flat-pack box - decided if you need a regular size or large sized box. You’ll also receive a shipping label with a tracking number, so make sure it stays safe and visible on the package (don’t tape over it!). By purchasing the box, you’re agreeing to our Terms & Conditions.

  2. Pack It Up: Take your box home and fill it up with your items.

  3. Drop It Off: Once packed, return the box to OUSA Clubs & Socs. If your hall is participating in our mail service, you can drop your box at the designated collection area.

  4. Track Your Shipment: You’ll get email updates once your package is on the move, including a final confirmation when it’s been delivered.

Box Dimensions and Weight
The large boxes provided are 59 cm (h), 51 cm (w), and 38 cm (d), regular size is 45.5cm x 35cm x 45.5cm - both with a maximum weight limit of 25 kg.

Overweight boxes will need to be repacked into another box.

FAQs

  1. What is included in the price?
The price includes the OUSA postal box (flat pack) and freight. You are responsible for providing your own packaging materials, such as bubble wrap and tape. If you pack your box at Clubs & Socs, you can buy a few strips of tape for $1.

  2. How much does the service cost?
Regular size: $30 anywhere in the South Island (including rural areas) or $40 anywhere in the North Island (including rural areas)
Large size: $40 anywhere in the South Island (including rural areas) or $50 anywhere in the North Island (including rural areas)
  3. Why are there two box sizes?
We've tried our very best to enhance our service. While we successfully increased the weight limit for shipments (5kgs more / box), we couldn’t reduce the price. However, we’re excited to offer a two larger box sizes compared to last year, for those with more stuff to send home — a regular size for same price as last year and for $10 extra we've got a large box size too! You’ll get double the box size for only $10 more, though the weight limit remains 25kg.
  4. Can I send internationally?
No, not at the moment, right now this service only offers nationwide shipping within New Zealand.

  5. Is there anything I can't send in the box?
You cannot send liquids, perishables (e.g., strawberries or cheese), and valuables (e.g., expensive items or sentimental items like heirlooms) are not allowed. No dangerous goods. See full list here

  6. Can I send to a PO Box or DX Box?
No, delivery to PO Boxes or DX Boxes is not available.

  7. What happens if my box is damaged?
Damaged boxes are your responsibility and will not be sent.

  8. Where is the collection point?
The collection is at OUSA Clubs and Societies and participating halls. Pickup will be scheduled once the minimum collection quantity is reached.

  9. How can I pay for the box?
Payment can be made at OUSA Clubs and Socs when purchasing your box, only with EFTPOS, we don't take cash.

  10. What if I need tape?
You can buy tape at local stores like grocery stores and dairies. We can provide a little bit of tape for an additional $1.

  11. I’ve lost my shipping label or taped over it.
Don’t worry! Since your details are already in our system, we can help you sort it out. But please try to keep your shipping label safe and visible!

  12. My box hasn’t arrived yet.
Shipping can take up to two weeks, so it may still be on its way. Be sure to check your tracking number to see the current status of your box.

  13. Where can I track my box?
You can track your package using this link: Track Your Parcel. You’ll receive your tracking number via email once you’ve dropped off your package at Clubs and Socs or a participating hall, and it has been collected by our courier.

  14. My box never arrived—it’s lost.
While this is extremely rare, we’re really sorry if it happens. We’ll do our best to help track it down. However, please note that OUSA and NZ Couriers are not liable for lost packages, as stated in the Terms & Conditions when you purchased your box.

  15. My box arrived damaged.
Though unlikely, if your box arrives damaged, we sincerely apologize. Our couriers do their best to ensure safe delivery, but accidents can happen. Unfortunately, OUSA and NZ Couriers are not liable for damaged boxes, as agreed in our Terms & Conditions.

  16. Is my package insured? What value of goods can I send?
OUSA and NZ Couriers do not take any liability for loss or damage to the items you send. Your package is not insured, so we strongly recommend not sending anything valuable or sentimental, just in case it gets lost or damaged. If you do want to insure your items, you’ll need to arrange it yourself. The easiest way? Let your parents know what you’re sending home, and they can contact their House & Contents insurance provider to add those items. Read our full Terms and Conditions here.
