MINUTES OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE EMERGENCY MEETING HELD IN THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE BULL-PEN ON MONDAY 14 OCTOBER 2024 AT 4.06PM

PEACE LETTER/STATEMENT

As attached. The draft was sent around all exec for feedback.  After it has been presented to the student body at our Annual General Meeting on Thursday it will be circulated wider.

In the meantime, it will be sent to the peace focus clubs and societies and international clubs.

393/24 THAT the OUSA Executive submit the Otago Enduring Commitment to Peace Statement to the student body.

GENERAL BUSINESS

            Birthday greetings –

394/24 THAT we recognise Liam White on this day of his birth and wish him well for his 22nd birthday.

            A loud applause followed.

            Rally – a discussion was held about the rally organised by the Otago Students for Justice in Palestine.

A scuffle broke out between some of the security and a protester trying to enter the Registry building and a pane of glass was broken.  One student was arrested. 

MUSA, Te Rōpū Māori, OUPISA and OUSA have all been involved in the discussion.
