MINUTES OF THE EXECUTIVE STANDING COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 23 NOVEMBER 2021 AT 7:32PM HELD VIA ZOOM.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
Covid-19 – risk assessment document being compiled; all staff have been asked for feedback. A risk register will be written up. Rumours that vaccinations will be mandatory on campus in time. NZ will move to the traffic light system on 3 December which has brought the dates forward to get things implemented.

OUSA UPDATE
Critic won several awards at the ASPA Awards over the weekend. Congratulations to the entire team. Well done!
Radio 1 have secured more funding for a digital content person.
The Financial Controller has been doing a stellar job collecting old debts.
The work being done on OUSA and Union building is going to plan and should be done by Christmas.
Clubs and Societies building work – they are experiencing time delays and running behind time.
TE ROOPU MĀORI UPDATE

Relaunching a new Te Roopu Māori website next year
OTAGO UNIVERSITY PACIFIC ISLAND STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION UPDATE
Most of the students have gone home for the holidays.
18 people had their first vaccination last week. A very good effort. There will be the last vaccination pop up this coming weekend.
Strategic Framework draft is still being worked on.
NZUSA UPDATES
Some current and 2022 Executive members attending Congress in Wellington.
Student Voice Summit was held.
Election of NZUSA student representatives for 2022 – Andrew Lessells was re-elected as national president and Fatima Imran and Sam Blackmore were elected as co-Vice Presidents.
There were some constitutional changes passed. There will be a Hui held 11-12 December. Hopeful a process will be set to get the policies finalised especially the accountability policy.
The levies were voted down.
It was questioned how much time the ITP and Polytechnic students were given during conferences and congress. It was noted that it can be dependent on the elected NZUSA president being from a University, ITP or a Polytechnic can influence this.
