The OUSA risk assessment document should be finalised tomorrow. Departments have been asked to give feedback.
OUSA UPDATE

NZUSA UPDATES
The national council meeting is being held in Wellington next Monday and Tuesday. Melissa was asked to Chair the Reform Committee meeting. She has requested a terms of reference be drawn up.
AUSA are running a binding referendum on Friday 27th, one of the questions is if AUSA should give notice to withdraw from NZUSA?
NZUSA membership is still in a state of flux.
TE RŌPŪ MĀORI UPDATE
Intercollege Cultural Night – this was really cool. Fun had by all.Te Rōpū Māori kapa haka performed there.
Degree is being awarded post humusly to the late Tim Rogers, former President and Treasurer of Māori Commerce Students’ Association, Te Tai Tuarā at this weekends graduation ceremony.
A relay run fundraiser was successful running up Baldwin Street, total of 286 laps raising $3,000 for cancer.
TRM Treasurer no longer on the Exec. OUSA offered assistance in the meantime.
Played a game of paintball which was fun
Another successful Māori graduation event last Friday and was attended by Melissa. She commended Jade on her participation and said it was a wonderful ceremony.

After an earlier meeting with the Advisory Board members there has been an informal preliminary paper drawn up to flesh out ideas about OUSA’s Commercial Assets.
There will be a business plan presented later on.
Ben and Gina requested each executive member have a couple of relevant questions to ensure all are involved as this proposal is a fundamental change. The timeline for questions is by the next executive meeting on 2 June and questions to Melissa.

The staff will require assistance to vacate the temporary space they have been using in the old Museum Annex back to the revamped building back across on 361 Great King Street.
The UBS Board has been sent a letter regarding the previously agreed loan agreement which has been through the Advisory Board.

GENERAL BUSINESS
Local Body Elections – A campaign is being planned so let Awhi know if you have any student related issues to put forward.
Ukraine war fundraiser – A student has approached a member of the executive about creating a recipe book to help raise funds. it was agreed the student could lead this and OUSA could perhaps help with promoting the idea.
Matariki celebrations – 21 June there will be a Market held on Castle Street at the end near the Innovation Centre. Te Rōpū Māori, Office of Māori Development and others are going to be involved. International student clubs have been invited to have stalls. All welcome to attend. It will be cash only.
JasonTutor4you – OUSA have been talking to others to endorse this idea.
Full degree description added to certificates – Caitlin has written to the Academic Vice Chancellor and will be attending a meeting to discuss this proposal.
International Students update – Work is happening on border recovery to allow international students’ back into the University post covid. Helping prepare new students. Goody bags will be made up for International Students during exams.
