OUSA UPDATE
- Art Week went well with good attendances through the exhibition.
- 2020 budgeting ongoing and by all accounts almost complete.
- Craft Beer and Food Festival tickets sold out for Saturday within hours and the Friday have about 1500 left. A very good event.
- Emergency Preparedness Week – 2-6 September, OUSA Student Support Centre, University of Otago and Civil Defence have been working on this.
- Student Support Centre Terms of Reference – feedback was minimal but good ideas were received just the same.
OUSA OPERATION FOX
James reported this was an outstanding and successful event. We had 65 amazing students on board who were a great bunch. Really lovely!
We intended to work two complete days but we were rained off early on Saturday and on Sunday the Bus drivers advised we leave a little earlier as the Haast Pass was closed with heavy snow on the Saturday.
The Department of Conservation, NZ Army, Lions club, the lovely community women at Hawea that fed us, the University for their financial support, the Social-impact studio, Unipol and OUSA are among the many who deserve a big thank you. James will send letters to them.
Seeing the destruction has given those on the trip from OUSA a bigger drive to make OUSA more sustainable.

There was a long discussion about the Clubs and Societies idea and general agreement was it goes to the student body to decide if OUSA affiliated clubs and societies should have to send a representative to general meetings.
It was agreed it is good to have a diverse opinion and discussion of the executive views.
