MATTERS ARISING
DCC candidate clinics – these are arranged for the Link this week, there are 10 candidates per session booked in. All executive encouraged to attend.
OUSA 2020 Elections – a static polling booth in the Link Monday – Thursday.
The Executive forums went well especially the one held outside on the lawn which was well attended and interactive. Well done Critic! Sinead Gill was an excellent moderator.
The Referendum dates have been advertised and people need to send questions into adminvp@ousa.org.nz this week.

Nothing to report this week.
OUSA UPDATE
- The MOU between OPSA and Queer Support being updated
- UBS – a very long meeting was held on Friday. Feldspar attended to pass on building design ideas for the upper redevelopment. It was important to be accommodating to the staff and neighbours during the redevelopments.
There will be consultation with our members and the rest of the Executive once the plans are set.
- OUSA Survey being pushed out another week as not many taking it up. All encouraged to get our members to take part.
- Debbie said she has two large staffing issues she is dealing with at the moment so her daily schedule is busy.

Mrs Dyer will replace Mr Ritchie on the Blues and Golds panel.

William noted this meeting was inquorate but a productive meeting just the same.

NZUSA AGM AND SJS MEETINGs
As attached.
The next meeting of NZUSA is in Dunedin on 17 October 2019, 10am – 4pm.
Student Job Search AGM and NZUSA congress are being held in Wellington on 15-17 November. Those keen to attend are Georgia, Ben, Matthew, Jack, James and Sabrina. Taylor will see if Te Roopu Maori could pay for her travel.
END OF YEAR EXECUTIVE FUNCTION / EXEC CHRISTMAS PARTY
The Executive are keen to get the planning underway to encourage more people to attend. Some expressed the theme Christmas Party shouldn’t be used as it isn’t Christmas time. It was agreed it would be an end of the year function and not a Christmas party.
Georgia will design an invitation and the Secretary will email the invitation lists from previous years.
CANNABIS REGULATIONS FORUM
As attached. There is a forum in Christchurch on 16 October – “Let’s talk about cannabis regulations and the upcoming Referendum”. How will the up and coming referendum impact on our campus?
This invitation will be granted to the newly elected President and/or some new Exec.
EXECUTIVE THIRD QUARTER REPORTS
A reminder these are due at 1pm on Wednesday 18 September 2019. After a discussion it was agreed the preamble/forward should be included.
GENERAL BUSINESS
The budget for 2020 is in need of finalising to be put to the student body next month. Please email Bonnie with a suitable time to chat with her about your budget.
OUSA Art purchase –

391/19 THAT Kayli Taylor be granted speaking rights for the duration of this meeting.

Kayli was curious to know if the Art that was agreed to be purchased at the Student General Meeting had been authorised so the purchase price can be donated to the Thursdays in Black campaign as agreed.

392/19 THAT the OUSA Executive agree to purchase the Art piece ‘Me and My mate Harlene’ for $250.00 from the Executive budget 3100.

Keynote speech invitation – Bonnie has been invited to talk about OUSA at a function for Otago Graduates next Thursday.
Schools Strike for Climate – next Friday another strike will be held and OUSA Executive are hoping many university students will take part. Georgia will set up a roster and also there will be a working bee on 23 September.
Policy Committee – next meeting on Thursday at 2.30pm. Please get ideas to Georgia for the Executive Accountability Policy.
Araiteuru Marae working bee – most people prefer Sunday. James will email the Marae and double check with arrangements and if they can come that day.
