Hyde Street Party – went well with less crowding, many people trying to jump fences to gain entry.

TE ROOPU MĀORI UPDATE
Kura reo Te Waipounamu classes – 10 students were sent to this advanced level of te reo speaking. An excellent opportunity.
A big week coming up for Te Roopu Māori.
NZUSA UPDATE
The national executive visited Otago last week. There was a four hour meeting with a power point demonstration. There are constitutional changes coming up.
Michaela booked to attend the national executive meeting in Wellington next month.
OTAGO UNIVERSITY PACIFIC ISLAND STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION UPDATE
Relay for Life campaign – all working together on this.
Polynesian Panthers Party, a social justice movement - visiting Te Tumu.
Homework Club for school students – this is to assist school student’s transition into University. There are 38 students signed up.
Sisters United – this is a foundation set up by Parris Goebel and her sisters to help the lives of young Pasifika and Māori young women. Melissa is working with Parris and local High School girls.

CHARITY FOR 2021
There had been some suggestions put forward but the Kura Kai was favoured. Kura Kai is a charitable trust set up by Makaia Carr to help families in need. They set up freezers in NZ secondary schools to provide support with kai for communities and whanau.
They are presently getting ready to set up in Kavanagh College, Kings and Queens High Schools in Dunedin.
It was suggested the Executive could volunteer in the Kura Kai kitchen as part of their volunteer hours.

A reminder that all to be present at our service outside the Staff Club by 1.30pm on Sunday and Michaela would like people to attend the Dawn Parade at the Cenotaph in the morning please.

The Secretary notified the meeting she has appointed George Sabonadiere as the Chairperson for any up and coming Student General Meetings this year.
All to assist with getting a good attendance at the next SGM on 21 April 2021 at noon in the MCR.

GENERAL BUSINESS
Relay for Life BBQ fundraiser – the Executive took turns at cooking and selling sausages outside Bunnings. They raised $607.80. Well done!
The OUSA team needs people to sign up to carry the baton at the Event. See Team Captain Michaela to sign up and please donate as we are nearly at $1600 raised.
Submissions – Mhairi has many on the go and hopes everyone will give feedback when she sends them through.
DCC plan – it is our future so please give comments and sign up.
