Students for Environmental Action
Students for Environmental Action (SEA) is the primary environmental activist group on the Otago University Campus.
SEA aims to help create a healthier environment and inspire people to care for Papatūānuku. We look for ways to live more sustainably, push for stronger environmental action, connect with the wider environmental community, and share ideas.
Some of our regular events include clothes swaps, documentary nights, trash walks, potlucks, submissions parties and workshops.
We collaborate with other environmental groups on and off campus, including AAPES, Slow Food, 350.org, the Sustainability Office, Quarantine Island, and Resilient Dunedin.
We also run Te Mahinga Kai - the Student Garden - a thriving vegetable garden located at the corner of Forth and Dundas Street. It is open to anyone, anytime, or you can join us at 1pm on Sundays to meet others, learn and share in the harvest. The garden also has a compost and worm farm, and we welcome people to come drop off their food scraps.
We're always eager to hear new ideas or answer any questions, so don't hesitate to reach out!
