The Aumaga Dance Group is a vibrant, energetic, and passionate group that promotes the Sāmoan culture and men's mental health through the art of Siva Sāmoa (Sāmoan Dance). Aumaga was founded by Mathew Te'o in 2019 as a method to overcome his longing for his family and heritage whilst studying in Dunedin

The term "Aumaga" describes untitled and humble village men who serve both the chiefs and the village as a whole. The path to leadership is paved through service. Our passionate Sāmoan Dance combined with mental health awareness, is Aumaga's service to our culture and heritage through dancing.
